FALMOUTH, Maine (AP) - Maine Turnpike officials are warning commuters that turnpike traffic leading to and from the well-traveled Falmouth spur will be disrupted in the months ahead due to a bridge rehabilitation project.
Officials say the southbound ramp leading from the turnpike to the spur is scheduled to close for about three weeks beginning Monday, for a week in May or early June, and again from late May or early June until construction ends in November.
The ramp leading from the spur to the turnpike's southbound lanes will close to traffic for about a week in late May or early June.
The dates could change depending on the weather.
The $3.5 million project includes partially replacing a bridge deck, replacing bridge railings, and raising the bridge to give more clearance over the turnpike.
