SCARBOROUGH (NEWS CENTER) - The Falmouth boys had to get knocked down before they could get back up again. After falling behind early in the second half, the Yachtsmen responded to win their third class B title in four seasons 2-1 over Camden Hills.
Luke Velas levelled the match a minute after the Windjammers took the lead in the 43rd minute.
With under nine minutes to go in regulation, Falmouth looked as though they were about to take their first lead when Jack Gallagher's hand ball in the box prevented the ball from crossing the goal line.
A penalty kick was awarded and JP White calmly put away the kick ensuring the program's 11th state championship.
It's the second year in a row both the Yachtsmen boys and girls won the state soccer crowns.
