FREEPORT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A fire damaged a home on Balsalm Lane in Freeport Friday afternoon.

A housekeeper called the Fire Department to report smoke in the basement of the home around 1:30 in the afternoon. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the basement.

Topsham, Lisbon, Brunswick and Bath fire departments were called in to help put out the fire.

One firefighter from Freeport was treated for heat exhaustion, and no other injuries were reported.
