Do you have big dreams and want to make them happen?  Looking for opportunities?  Do you need scholarship money, value excellence and community service, enjoy a challenge, demonstrate leadership, and/or want to grow personally and professionally?  If you can answer yes to one or more of these questions, then the Miss Maine Scholarship Program is for you!

Registrations are now being accepted for the 77th annual Miss Maine Scholarship Pageant scheduled for June 2013 at the Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School. The Miss Maine Scholarship Pageant is the official state preliminary to the Miss America Pageant, one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the largest source of scholarships for women in the world.

4th Annual Dentists Who Care for ME event

On Friday November 2, the Greater Portland Dental Society will hold its 4th Annual Dentists Who Care for ME event.

Free dental care will be open to adults who cannot afford regular dental care.   A list of dental offices offering free care is attached.  Appointments will not be accepted beforehand.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early at one of the offices on November 2 to secure an appointment for the day.  Appointment slots fill quickly.

The free care will include one treatment - cleanings, fillings, extractions or referral to a specialist, if necessary.      In certain situations, people may be referred to one of more than 20 specialist dentists who will also provide free care.

In addition to dentists and dentist specialists, the day includes volunteer hygienists, office assistants and friends.

Dentists are participating from Falmouth to Arundel and Gorham.
