National Program at Thornton Hall Offers Strategies for Managing Falls

 

A Matter of Balance, a nationally recognized program for older adults who have concerns about falling, will be offered at no charge at Thornton Hall assisted living, 56 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick. The program will be Mondays and Wednesdays, August 1-24, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage and control falls, setting goals for increasing activity, making changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercising to increase strength and balance.

The program is open to anyone concerned about falls; those interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength; and to anyone who has fallen or who has restricted activities because of falling concerns.
