The 5th annual Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival takes place on the sidewalks of Maine Street and on the adjacent town Mall on August 20 from 9-5.  Thousands of visitors will take advantage of the sunshine and the wonderful atmosphere on this special day in town.  Beginning with only 39 artists, the event has expanded in scope every year and has had a greater audience, each year.

Designed to celebrate and foster an appreciation of the arts and to showcase Brunswick as a wonderful cultural destination, there are more than 90 juried artists and artisans featuring painting, sculpture, mixed media, graphics and drawing, photography and fine crafts.

Real Maine Wedding Contest Winners to have Wedding Bands Chosen by Public

The final round of public voting will focus on wedding bands by Brown Goldsmiths

FREEPORT, MAINE - Laura Plaisted and Nolan Hood, winners of the inaugural Real Maine Wedding of the Year contest, have one remaining aspect of their wedding set to be finalized by public vote. Most recently, a decision was made on the couples’ honeymoon, with public choosing a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic by Dragonfly Travel. Now through August 11, members of the public can vote on the couples’ wedding bands from Brown Goldsmiths in Freeport.

To vote for Laura and Nolan’s wedding bands go to www.realmaineweddings.com and click on the Real Maine Wedding of the Year contest page. Members of the public can vote on three different options for the rings. The first two options are wedding bands that have been selected by Laura and Nolan.

"Stuff the Truck” for The Good Shepherd Food Bank

United Maine Craftsmen is pleased to help feed Maine’s hungry and “Stuff the Truck” for The Good Shepherd Food Bank.  On Saturday August 13th craft show patrons will be asked to bring a non-perishable food with them to the show, and will receive a free admission pass for the following day. On Sunday. August 14th  local farmers will set up to sell their locally grown fresh produce, meats, cheeses, honey and maple syrup.

 

Every August for the past 42 years, the Cumberland Fairgrounds, Cumberland, Maine has been transformed into a marketplace featuring Maine's finest arts and crafts, displayed and sold by the artisan. United Maine Craftsmen remains the largest craft organization in Maine, providing support to members and quality, locally produced, products to patrons.


Patrons attending the show this year, August 11th - 14th, can sign up for the daily drawing for a $250 VISA gift card.
