Downeast Energy Announces Recipients of Its Scholarship Program

Downeast Energy will award scholarships to 14  high school seniors and graduates who are already enrolled full-time at approved postsecondary community colleges in the career and technical programs for  heating or building trades.  Each scholarship is for $500 per academic year.

The recipients of this year’s scholarships are (in alphabetical order):

1. Sara Adams, from Lisbon who is attending  University of Maine Farmington;

2. Philip Andresen, from Rockland who is  attending University of Maine at Orono;

3. Mitchell David Craig, Thornton Academy, Saco and is attending University of Southern Maine;

4. Mark Davis, from Mt Ararat, is attending Universal Technical Institute;

5. Courtney Gilman, from Maranacook and is attending Wheaton;

6. Jenna Kiely from Freeport, is attending University of Maine at Orono;

7. Linda Masteller, from Kennebunk and is attending York County Community College;

8. Laura Mills, from Thornton Academy, Saco and is attending University of Southern Maine;

9. Eric Ogren, from Maranacook and is attending Husson;

10. Jacob Ouellette, from Sanford and is attending  Emerson;

11. Joshua Ouellette, from Sanford and is attending University of Southern Maine;

12. Taylor Schmidt, from Kennebunk and is attending Johnson & Wales;

13. Margaret Webber, from Mt. Ararat and is attending Oklahoma State University;

14. Lacy Wilson, from Gardiner and is attending the University of New England.

Awards were based on a combination of selection factors including, but not limited to, scholastic merit and participation in extracurricular activities.
