Auditions are open to intermediate & advanced level students, as well as existing & emerging professional belly dancers aged 18+. Wear comfortable, non-restrictive class or practice dancewear, no costumes for auditions please! Plan to arrive on-time and stay for the duration. There is no fee to audition. A public baked bean & macroni and cheese supper will be held from 5:00pm to 6:30pm on Saturday, January 22 at the First Parish Congregational Church, 116 Main Street, Yarmouth.  Featured are two types of baked beans, cole slaw, macroni and cheese, hot dogs, homemade pies, biscuits and beverages.  Adults, $7.00, Children, $3.00.

Bill Black, founder of the famous Umpqua Feather Merchants and owner of Spirit River Flies and Ibrahim Mesinovic, owner of Bug-Partz will be at L.L.Bean on January 17th and 18th at 7 p.m. to offer free tying lessons. Mesinovic is best known for the development of some groundbreaking tying materials, including a series of aquatic insect body parts that are remarkably realistic, and produce flies that look strikingly like the real thing.

The Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) Annual Forecast Conference, which each year attracts more than 500 attendees from around the state, will be held this year on Thursday, January 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn By the Bay, 88 Spring Street, Portland, ME.

Maine Destination Wedding Contest to be Announced

Real Maine Weddings to give couples a chance at a destination wedding in Freeport in 2011

FREEPORT – Real Maine Weddings will announce a contest that will give couples who are planning to get married in 2011 the chance at an all inclusive wedding.  Contest details and specifics will be announced during a press conference at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, at the Harraseeket Inn, Freeport.

The contest will be based on applicants submitting videos through the Real Maine Weddings website, and winners will be determined by a combination of narrowing the entries through judging the videos, and online voting.  The value of the wedding will be more than $100,000.  Details and participants will be announced at the press conference.
