FALMOUTH - Falmouth residents officially launched the Yes on 1 campaign today to support the plan to re-use the former Lunt/Plummer-Motz school campus for a community center, expanded town library, and public park.

“On June 14, we will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve these buildings for public use and improve services for residents of all ages without raising taxes,” said Yes on 1 co-chair Marna Miller.  “It's the smart move for Falmouth.”

Question 1 asks Falmouth voters to approve a $5.65 million plan to re-develop the historic Lunt/Plummer-Motz elementary school campus.  But the plan will not raise taxes or require any borrowing.  Under the plan, the Town could use up to $1.5 million from the Town’s undesignated fund.

Other funding will be generated from additional sources, such as the sale of some acreage at the Lunt/Plummer-Motz site and private fundraising by the library.  The plan includes a public/private partnersh
