Skin Cancer Screening at Mid Coast Hospital - May 12, 2012

 

Mid Coast Hospital is hosting a FREE skin cancer screening on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 12:30-3:00 p.m. Board Certified Dermatologist Helge Riemann, MD will join Nancy Egan, MD, Susan Leveille, NP, and Mary Mraz, NP, (both Nurse Practitioners specializing in Dermatology) to provide their services in collaboration with the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Cancer Society. The screening will take place in the Surgical Suites at 121 Medical Center Drive, the medical office building attached to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer with more than 1 million new cases reported every year.  Consider registering for this screening if:

Maine Environmental Education Association Announces The 2012 Environmental Education Awards

 

The Maine Environmental Education Association (MEEA) will announce the winners of its annual environmental education awards recognizing this year's most outstanding environmental educator, school, business and environmental program in the state of Maine.  These awards will be announced at MEEA's annual conference on Friday, March 23rd at the Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset, Maine at 8:30 a.m. Winners for 2012 include:

·      Oakhurst Dairy:  The Maine Environmental Education Association Business of Year

·      Lincoln Middle School, Portland, ME:  The Maine Environmental Education Association School of the Year

·      Kennebec Land Trust: The Excellence in Environmental Education Program Award

Yarmouth Boat Yard Expands with New Service Center and Heated Indoor Boat Storage Facility

Yarmouth Boat Yard has broken ground on their new service center and indoor heated boat storage facility. The new 6,500 s.f. building will facilitate year-round boat service work and provide indoor heated storage. The building will be completed and ready for service work beginning this June.

"The new service and heated indoor storage building is in-keeping with focus on providing a full-service experience for our boating customers," said Yarmouth Boat Yard owner Steve Arnold. "The building will give us the ability to perform additional year-round service for engine repowers, fiberglass work, electronics installation and other boat repairs and maintenance."
